Strengthening the Community is Essential to our Vitality is found within the Delta Tau Delta Mission and Values. By holding true to our Mission and Values Delta Tau Delta is able to Live Lives of Excellence.   A prime example of Delt holding true to its Mission and Values is by looking at our involvement in activities which really do Strengthen our Community. Delta Tau Delta is an active organization on this campus and with in the Greek Community.  While not only hosting a Philanthropy ourselves, Delt also participates in several Sororities’ Philanthropy throughout the academic year.

Most recently the men of Delta Tau Delta participated in the Kappa Delta Wingman. The Philanthropy, which started on Sunday March 8th lasted until Saturday  March 14th consists of several different activities and contests. The first activity was a Spaghetti Dinner hosted by the ladies of Kappa Delta where  70% of the Chapter goes and enjoys all you can eat spaghetti. To help advertise awareness about the philanthropy one of the contests involves creating a banner to display the beneficiaries for the philanthropy.  Few days later in the week is the serenade. This consists of a skit and some music followed by a short remark from the king candidate (another activity in the philanthropy) and of course a gift of flowers. Lastly comes the actual “Wingman” competition. Wingman consist of several contests involving buffalo wings and buffalo sauce. These events range from a Sauce Bong, where contestants drink buffalo sauce as fast as possible, to Wing on String where they eat a wing off a string using no hands. 

Philanthropies like Wingman and others are great way to actively help our community in a fun and effective way. It is a chance to represent our letters with pride and earn bragging rights within our Greek Community. Oh and did we mention we won the Wingman Competition!!
